Little help starting over.
Alright, I've had Guild wars for quite a while but I quit playing it a while back. I now want to get back into the game. Unfortunately I deleted all my characters to get me to quit when I did. I now need some help on what class would be best for me to pick. I currently have Prophecies and Nightfall, and will be getting factions and Eye of North for Christmas. I want a class that will be able to do good damage and Is accepted into parties easily. I'm kind of stuck between Dervish, Warrior, And Necromancer (MM). Any idea on which of these I should make?
Oh and should I make this character in Nightfall or Prophecies. I realize I can get to the other campaign later in the game. So really I'm just wondering which one you level up faster in the beginning. |

Nightfall you level up faster in the beginning and w/e, it is kind of grindy though getting those Sunspear points, the +15 attribute quests are really easy in comparison to their Tyrian counterparts.
Warriors are pretty much welcome anywhere still but there are a lot of them, dervishes are kind of underrated and necros are amazing at tearing through PvE. I might be biased, my main being a caster (ele) but I'd say pick the necro |

Id pick the necro. Dervs are probably the best class of the 3, but nobody is really smart enough to realize that because wiki doesnt include them in any builds. So for finding a group, itd be the easiest on a necro. Wars are just...everywhere...

Imo; warriors are only real fun in pvp and tbh in pve people don't search for them 'that' much, with shadowform and obsidian flesh they are not 'the' tanks anymore. (and yes they are everywhere O.o)
Dervishes can dish out amazing damage (especially with eotn buffs but ohaai aura of holy might but that's factions I fear... but after x-mas you'll be able to do amazing damage ) but imo aren't the best in adjusting alot. and cuz pvx dislikes them they aren't too loved for groups (then again imo for a good group you usually need your guild, they should just accept everything that fits in a group 'melee, healer, support etc.) Necro has amazing energy management, curses are strong with brainlesness of mobs and minion masters are always loved (almost always especially since AotL,) only imo the death nova that makes them quite strong is annoying as player to use So I would say Dervish or Necro, depending on wether you love melee and plain damage or caster and imo more options of what you can do with your build (from healer to damage dealer to defensive role with curses or minions as fleshwalls or even spirits) Nightfall is the best to lvl and you can travel to other campains quite fast. But I usually chose factions unless other campains have awesome looks |

warrior or necro from nightfall for heroes. warriors are great for general usage just about everywhere and u can always fit a necro into a team build somewhere.

For profession I'd say Necro, you have your good damage with various skills and will be accepted fairly easily into groups. But then, Necro is my main and I prefer playing a spell-caster over melee, so am just a little bit biased there.
Really, just choose depending on what play style you enjoy most - if you like getting up close and personal and hitting things, go warrior or dervish, if spells are more your thing, go Necro. As the others have said, Nightfall is the quickest for levelling, although one of the things I (still) like about Prophecies is the various skill quests. Of course you can buy all the skills you require, its more a personal thing in that I hate to pay for a skill that I can get for free |
